Zoo Information

The zoo is part of the zoo and naturepark Castle Herberstein . The zoo is divided into five continents: North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Also this zoo has a petting zoo.  It is possible to participate in different short courses of 2 or three hours. In these courses the zoo keepers tell something about different subjects, These courses are not included in the entrance fee. Also there is a special program for groups and school groups. Tierwelt Herberstein is a member of the European association of zoos and aquaria  (EAZA)

Animals at Tierwelt Herberstein are African Lion, Gelada Baboon, Elan Antelope, Leopard, Green monkey, Grey parrot, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, Roes Ringed Parakeet, Mandrill, Mona Monkey, Egyptian Goose, Ruffed Lemur, Blue Wildebeest, Americ an Bison, Black-capped Squirrel Monkey, Spectacled Bear, Capybara, Brazilian Tapir, Buffon´s  Macaw, Brown Capuchin, Cotton-top tamarin, Maned Wolf, Mara, Greater Rhea, Arctic Wolf, Prairie Dog, Puma, Timber Wolf, Vicuna, Coatimundi, Meleagris gallopavo, Red-necked Wallaby, Emu, Cape Barren Goose, Black swan, Indian Peafowl, Indian Peafowl, Fallow Deer, Father David's Deer, European Lynx, Blackbuck, Dalmatian Pelican, Nilgai, Przewalski's-Wild Horse, Siamang, Bactrian Camel, White-naped crane, White-tailed Porcupine.
