Zoo Information

Zoo schmiding has evolved from schmiding birdpark in 1982. Schmiding birdpark is specialized in exotic birds. The zoo is divided into five different area’s: the tropical rain forest, the African savanna, birds of prey, Gorilla bay and the subtropical. In this zoo it is possible to make a so called zoo active tour. During this tour you can answer a couple of questions that are printed on a sheet of paper. These sheets can be printed from the website of the zoo. The sheets have different subjects so you can walk different routes through the zoo. Also you can walk the so called “riddle route”. During this route you need to solve different riddles to get the clue where to go next. Also they have two different types of feedings: Specialized feedings and general feedings. The specialized feedings can be watched at the monkeys the gorilla’s and in the birds of prey area. Also special feedings can be arranged on demand. You need inform at the zoo how this can be arranged.
