Attractiepark Slagharen, formerly known as Ponypark Slagharen, is a cowboy western themed amusement park. The park started as when a dutch salesman had the idea to start a Shetland Pony Park and include a Shetland Pony, a very small pony breed, with every cabin that was rented, they still do this today. The park became very popular and grew out to an decent sized amusement park. There are about fifty attractions including many thrill rides like two rollercoasters. There is a monorail that goes entirely around the park with three stations.
There is a large parking place available for cars, buses and touring cars. Parking is not free. Also there are many accommodations available to spend the night here.

The only roller coaster they have has 1 looping. And believe it or not, one day the train got stuck while it was making the loop and people hang upside down for an hour before they all got rescued. Really it's true!
