Sprookjesbos or Fairy Tale Forest is a small theme park which is open since 1950 and is one of the oldest real theme parks in the world. It's located in a beautiful forest environment and is build on a hill called the Heunsberg. As you probably have already guessed, this park has a Fairy Tale. It's themed after many different fairy tales like Cinderella, Hansel and Gretal, Snow White and many more. They have a few small rides for children and a playground but if you like fairy tales I guess this park is for any age.
The name Sprookjes bos is not to be mixed up with an area in another dutch theme park called Efteling, these are two separate parks.
The area this theme park is located is a very popular tourist attraction. The town Valkenburg is definetly worth a visit, perhaps when the kids are in the park? There is another amusement park very closeby called Pretpark De Valkenier. Perhaps if they don't like fairy tales they might like this park.
