SEGA Republic opens in Dubai

Emaar Retail in association with SEGA Corporation opened SEGA Republic, a new indoor theme park, at The Dubai Mall. SEGA Republic is the first of its kind in the Middle East. With nine main attractions like the Sonic Hopper, a 30 ft drop ride. They also run motion simulators to simulated sports games and classic carnival games.

World's Fastest Roller Coaster Opens

The world’s fastest roller coaster, Ring Racer, opened at the German Grand Prix race circuit in Nurburgring. Ring Racer is supposed to give the feeling you're driving a Formula 1 car. In less than 2.5 seconds the coaster reaches a top speed of 217km per hour (135mph) which is twice the acceleration of a real Formula 1 car.

World's Longest Water Coaster Announced

Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana, has announced to open the world's longest water coaster, called Wildebeest, in May 2010. Guest do not have to carry rafts uphill, a conveyor belt will lift the rafts.

Holiday World already was the home of the world's tallest water ride, the 135 feet high Pilgrims Plunge, which opened in 2009.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Coaster opens at Universal Studios Florida

Universal Studios Florida has opened the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. After several months delay the long-awaited musical roller coaster has finally opened.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood Opens

On Saturday, August 1 Merlin Entertainment opened the ninth Madame Tussauds. This is a US.$ 35.000.000 attraction and according to Merlin Entertainment this is their biggest project ever.
Why they never opened in Hollywood earlier beats me. This must be one of the most natural locations for the brand.
