Disney's Star Tours 2 opens in 2011Walt Disney Parks announced that several parks will undergo refurbishment within the next 5 years. One of their most famous rides, Star Tours, which first opened in 1989 is being upgraded and renamed to Star Tours 2. The 70mm film projectors will be replaced with HD digital 3D projectors and the simulator platform will also be upgraded. Filming of the new Star Tours is currently underway.Personally this has always been one of my favorite rides, so I can't wait to see the upgrade.
